Leaving the calm waters of the San Raphael fjord, we sailed back into the turbulent Pacific. For about 10-12 hours the seas were rough and it required all our balancing skills to navigate around the ship. Fortunately, Jim and I are good sailors, so we were not troubled with seasickness. The biggest waves were 12-15 feet and hit deck six. Just warm up training for the Antarctic waters.
Around noon we went back into another fiord to see the Iceberg Glacier. The water at one point was unique, part sea water, part siltly fresh water. You can see where the water meets.
The ship hosted a private party for Frequent Regent travelers on a restricted crew deck for a close-up look at the glacier. What an incredible blue color!
